Competition can be found in any industry or sport. When it comes to food services, the competition is very stiff and no company wants to give up any ground. This is exactly how some companies tend to stay in control for so many years. OSI Food Solutions epitomizes this action to the highest degree as it has been in business since 1909. At the start of the 20th century, this global powerhouse of food services only specialized in the selling of fresh meats. By doing so, the company has been able to build an impressive resume. KFC, Yum, Subway, Starbucks and Pizza Hut are just a few of the companies that it serves.
Ray Kroc, the former CEO of McDonald’s, was one of OSI’s top clients. This man actually shook hands in an agreement that states the OSI would be one of the hamburger chain’s top suppliers of meat. This strong bond between the two entities is still going strong to this very day. McDonald’s continued to grow rapidly throughout the ’70s, which forced OSI Food Solutions to ramp up its production. By doing so, this food processor had to adjust by opening a factory that only dealt with producing high-quality meats.
In 1977, OSI Food Solutions opened this factory in West Jordan, Utah. Fast-forward to many decades later and the company has been doing the same exact thing. At OSI’s Germany location, a high-capacity production line was embedded to meet the growing demands for chicken. This particular factory doubled its production in chicken processing in order to meet the public’s need. What more could anyone ever ask for from a food supplier? The future is looking mighty bright for OSI Food Solutions, but who knows what the company’s next step will be.
